The RIM BlackBerry 8900 Curve, also known as the BlackBerry Javelin, is an updated version of the popular Curve range, and borrows some features and fashionable stylings of the popular BlackBerry Bold.
The 8900 Curve has a 2.4" display, which may be smaller than the Bold's, but is much crisper with great contrast levels. The full QWERTY keyboard has been improved from the 8300-series, and is very comfortable to type on indeed. The smooth design is inspired by the Bold, but the smaller size means it fits very nicely in your pocket.
The BlackBerry 8900 is a brilliant choice for anyone who needs a great emailer on the go, with the added bonus of worldwide quad-band usage, built-in GPS (with Assisted-GPS), and Wi-Fi - features that rarely appear altogether even on the newer BlackBerry phones. The 8900 Curve also has the classic trackball navigation, and comes with Bluetooth and a memory card slot that can hold up to 16 GB.
Unlike many previous BlackBerry models, the 8900 Curve features a 3.15 megapixel camera, complete with autofocus, flash, and video recording capabilities. The chrome bezel also means that the phone is reasonably durable and can survive everyday use better without taking bumps and scrapes, and of course the 8900 features the expected BlackBerry push email.
The BlackBerry 8900 Curve/BlackBerry Javelin is a great update on the popular Curve range, fusing classic functions with the modern design of the Bold, bringing this range right up to date. A definite option for anyone who needs email at their fingertips, and the added bonuses of GPS and Wi-Fi are definitely make it worth every penny.
